Chocolate & Peanut Butter GranolaBy danieldiverMy chocolate and peanut butter granola is crunchy, smokey and gorgeous. I make a big batch of this on a Saturday morning, and it lasts all week, plus it scents the house with the cosiest warm scent. It is just what I need weekdays after an early gym session to replenish energy levels. I prefer not to add dried fruits but rather to add fresh berries and fruit as I eat.
Christmas French ToastBy danieldiverThis has been my Christmas morning breakfast for many years now. I make my Christmas French toast out of the sweet star shaped Italian bread Pandoro. It typically comes in a large box like a present. It's sweetness lends itself well to French toast. I simple dip it in an eggy mixture with a little cinnamon before proceeding to fry it over a low heat until the entire house is scented with the Christmas aroma.
Croissant Breakfast BakeBy danieldiverA sensational make ahead breakfast. Stale croissants are steeped in egg lightly sweetened and give you an almost donut tasting breakfast dish.
Croque MonsieurBy danieldiverThe best ham and cheese sandwich in the world. Stringy oozy cheese, salty ham, mustard and good bread toasted in butter. What more could you require from a sandwich.
Dutch BabyBy danieldiverA super aerated pancake that at first glance may be mistaken for a giant Yorkshire pudding. These gorgeous pancakes just like all other pancakes lend themselves well to so many accompaniments. Whether that be simply dusted with icing sugar, crispy bacon, maple syrup, fresh berries, or eggs its delicious. Note: it is extremely important that ingredients are at room temperature prior to cooking or you simply won't get enough rise.
Eggs in PurgatoryBy danieldiverEggs poached in a hellishly fiery tomato sauce, perfect at any time of day but particular good when you need a little fire in your belly.
Granola MuffinsBy danieldiverMuffins for breakfast may seem like a lot of work but these really aren't. It's just a matter of mixing a few dry and wet ingredients together and a lazy whisk together and 20 minutes later you will have warm from the oven muffins. I find these particular useful on lazy weekend mornings as I'm the type of person who likes to have several cups of tea before breakfast and this allows me the time to do that.
Guacamole EggsBy danieldiverThis dish came to creation on a morning I wanted Turkish eggs for breakfast, but I had some avocados that really needed using up. Turkish eggs are a dish of poached eggs served on a garlicy yoghurt sauce with a chilli sauce, it does sound like a weird combination but is truly heavenly. I discovered the recipe for Turkish Eggs in Nigella Lawson's book At my table. I made them so often, but with a little tinkering with the addition of the avocado and chorizo this is what I came up with and what I always do now. One thing, for me at least, that is a requirement is that you have some good thickly sliced bread toasted to dip into the oozing egg and use as a spoon to scoop it up with. Note: If you aren't a confident cook you may want to prepare the guacamole element and the chorizo butter sauce before you poach the egg.
Ham & Cheese JambonsBy danieldiverDelicious puff pastry parcels with a cheese and ham filling. These parcels make a great on the go or portable breakfast that is delicious either hot or cold.
Hangover EggsBy danieldiverThis really isn't a recipe simple something I eat, often, and in particular after a few drinks. It's got everything I need carbs, protein, and spice to wake me up.
Kefir PancakesBy danieldiverI love starting the weekend off with a pancake breakfast and until recently it was always with buttermilk pancakes, however I don't always have buttermilk. Lately I'm never without kefir in my fridge and it's not simply because of all the numerous health benefits of the tangy elixir that I now make all my pancakes with it but simply because it makes the best pancakes ever. They make the spongiest and lightest pancakes. I do adore these pancakes with a simple blackberry syrup made by thawing berries in some honey in a small pan over low heat until the berries have thawed and omitted their deep purple juices into the honey.
Maple French ToastBy danieldiverWhat better way to kick off the weekend with than a leisurely breakfast with maple French toast. This also makes a perfect midnight snack.
Marmite Scrambled EggsBy danieldiverMarmite breakfast recipes can be so much more that just Marmite and toast. My marmite scrambled eggs make a bolstering & delicious breakfast. That is as tasty and quick to make as it is delicious to eat. They scarcely take much more time to make than toasting a piece of toast. Marmite is not only rich in vitamins b, but also add a deep salty deliciousness to the eggs, and as we all know eggs and salt are a combination made in heaven. Why not check out some of my other marmite recipes here: Marmite Roast Chicken
Nutella & Banana CrepesBy danieldiverNutella and banana crepes are always a favourite either as a dessert or for brunch they are a real winner. If you are making them for dessert I suggest you add a scoop of ice cream in as well before folding the crepes and serve with any remaining warm Nutella sauce drizzled over.
Sweet Potato WafflesBy danieldiverSweet Potato waffle recipe. These make a great make ahead breakfast. Make a large batch of these light and crispy waffles at the weekend and pop them into the toaster and toast them and you have breakfast in minutes.
