Maple french toast recipe

Yields1 Serving

 2 eggs
 1 tbsp milk
 60 ml maple syrup (plus extra for serving)
 4 thickly slices white bread (preferably slightly stale)
 Butter & Olive oil for frying

Whisk together eggs, milk and maple syrup in a dish large enough to contain 4 slices of bread in one layer.

Add the bread and allow to sit for a minute before flipping over and allowing the other side to soak.

Heat the butter and oil in a frying pan over a medium to low heat.

Cook to slices at a time. Shake off any excess egg mixture before gently laying it into the pan. Cook for 2 – 3 minutes aside until cooked through and golden brown. Then repeat with the other two slices.

Remove to a plate once cooked and drizzle with a little more maple syrup.
