Amaretto SourBy danieldiverA classic Amaretto sour cocktail.CherrytiniBy danieldiverI do like a cocktail or two over the festive period and as the years pass my repitoire of cocktail recipes grows. The latest addition to that range is my cherrytini. It boozy but of course doesn't taste it.
Note: Should you be unable to get cherry juice you could use pomegranate juice or even cranberry instead. Christmas CosmoBy danieldiverCranberry FizzBy danieldiverI couldn't have Christmas without lots of bottles of prosecco in the house and I couldn't have it without my cranberry syrup at Christmas. Even the colour is enough to liven up the spirits. This amount of syrup is enough for 4 bottles of prosecco. If you feel you will be having more then simply double the recipe for the syrup. Should you have any leftover it's gorgeous drizzled over ice cream or as a syrup for pancakes. Gingerbread Apple MartiniBy danieldiverI think an apple martini is possibly my favourite cocktail. This is my festive seasonal take on the classic. The colour alone that vibrant green makes me salivate. The balance of sour and sweet is absolutely perfect and it's a great one for a party just make a large pitcher and store it in the fridge.Hazelnut NegroniBy danieldiverMy seasonal twist on the Negroni. Traditional it consists of equal measures of Campari, Red vermouth and gin. I actually came upon this version during lockdown one evening when I felt like a Negroni and had run out of gin, due to limiting shopping trips i thought I'd add a splash of Frangelico. It was heavenly. It is strange that this drink conjures tastes of chocolate orange to me even though it doesn't contain chocolate whatsoever. I believe it comes from the butter hazelnut flavours imparted by Frangelico. Frangelico is a hazelnut liquor from Italy that has a warm buttery hazelnut flavour. I think of it as Nutella in liquor form. It works so well in desserts or stirred through a hot chocolate for a cosy nightcap. Lemon Meringue CocktailBy danieldiverDessert and cocktail in one this vibrant and delicious cocktail is a real after dinner treat.
For a simplified version you add 25ml vodka, 25ml amaretto, 25ml fresh lemon juice, 2 tbsp lemon curd and 1 egg white to a cocktail shaker along with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a martini glass.Mulled CiderBy danieldiverIf you want to fill your home with the scent of Christmas this mulled cider recipe certainly will and also provides a delicious drink. Fruity with mellow notes of spices and very easily drank. It can be a welcoming change to the ubiquitous glass of mulled wine that is forced upon guest as they enter any Christmas party. I have nothing against mulled wine, in fact I do rather enjoy a glass.
If you require an alcohol free version swap the cider for apple juice and simply omit the sugar as the apple juice should be sweet enough. Salted Caramel Espresso MartiniBy danieldiverA real pick me up cocktail. This will liven up any party. I do love an espresso martini but this salted caramel espresso martini is on a whole other level. The bitter espresso makes this cocktail very smooth and balances the sweetness making it easy to drink very many of them all too easy.
